What to eat when you can’t eat anything (not true in my case as there is plenty I can eat but it is the way I’m feeling at the moment).
Gluten free – I feel great. So many problems solved. As a result there is no way that gluten will knowingly pass my lips again.
Dairy free – no more nosebleeds and I can breathe through my nose. It’s a no brainer.
Nothing that sends the blood sugar too high – whaaaaaat! Hang on a minute while I take the batteries out of that machine. The thing is that blood sugar heading upwards of 12mmol/L doesn’t really make me feel any different. I’m feeling a bit deflated every time meal time comes round. I’m thinking chocolate biscuits, chips, rice, all the things I can’t have.
Focus on what you can have, not what you can’t seems to be the standard advice. Ok, standard advice, here’s what I had for breakfast today:
It’s a blueberry and spinach smoothie – recipe here – and a couple of hard boiled eggs. As a breakfast or brunch it will keep me going until dinner. Added bonus, the smoothie tastes really nice and I recommend it to you.
Nothing nicer than something tasty I can eat to brighten up my day!
